While a slow start, many great happenings have been occurring lately.
Since my last update, I have let go of about 75% of all of my possessions. My friends would all agree that I am a packrat, so it was a challenge. Those same friends were also the ones to relieve me of many of those binds. I hosted a ‘pay what you can’ party and my items went off to new homes. What was not claimed was donated. Where I still have that 25%, it is a lot more manageable.
My notice was given at work. They offered a nice incentive to stay some additional months, but in the end, I didn’t want to sacrifice when we’d move, for the “security” of their offer. Even tonight, I was told I may not be able to work remote with them, another security piece removed, but I’m comfortable with that. It will give more time to explore the new world I am going to.
As Exhibit B shows, after a fantastic painting party, my home was put on the market. I have been nervous to be out of a job with the house on the market but tonight also provided our first viewers of our home, a nice step forward [although kind of creepy :P].
And the best happening, is all the great conversations. I so appreciate how positive everyone is about this move. I hear often that they are jealous (although they always clarify it with ‘maybe not Thailand…’) or wish they had done it when they were ‘younger’ or want to go with me. It feels very much the right choice for me and is at the point of being a ‘given’ that I should go. It is nice to see excitement reflected back as I mention my vague plans though. I’m looking forward to sending back new photos to everyone and sharing the trip.
Now just to get all my ducks in a row!
